Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using Macleod Heilan Tours website.
Your access to and use of this service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms.
These Terms apply to all visitors who access or use the service.
By accessing or using the service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, then you may not access the service.

1 Payment

​

1.1  Invoiced Payments - a deposit of 20% must be paid at the time of booking this is non-refundable. You can pay by debit/credit card/paypal and other methods displayed on our website. The balance must be paid in full 4 weeks prior to departure date and is subject to the following conditions below:

1.2  Automatic bookings require 100% payment to confirm booking. Any bookings cancelled up to 4 weeks to the travel date will be refunded 80% of the total cost. 

1.3  If you prefer to be invoiced rather than complete an automatic booking, please email us to confirm and we can send out a payment link or invoice. 

 

 

 

 

2 Cancellations and Refunds

We will only cancel tours where circumstances are beyond our control, or which might jeopardise your safety. In the event we cancel your tour we will notify you as soon as possible and you will be refunded in full.

2.1 If you cancel your reservation 14 days before departure date a full refund will be made minus the 20% non-refundable deposit. If the tour is cancelled less than 14 days prior to the tour taking place sadly you will not get a refund.

2.2 Shore Excursions
a. If you cancel your reservation 14 days before departure date a full refund will be made minus the 20% non-refundable deposit. 

b. In the event your ship is unable to dock for whatever reason – you will receive a full refund miss the 20% deposit.

2.3 Any extra services that have been bought via Macleod Heilan Tours ie: ferries will not be refunded unless they have not yet been paid for.

3 Our Contract With You

​

3.1 The following are the terms and conditions on which we supply the services to you. 

3.2 Please ensure you read and understand these terms when booking with us.

3.3 Bookings can be made via email confirmation and an invoice will be sent out confirming the following details, the date, start time, length and/or end time shall be specified in Your Booking and/or Ticket.

3.4 We will confirm your booking by accepting payment from you for the full amount or the 20% non-refundable deposit. You will receive an Invoice/Reference number and ticket. When we issue your reference number, email or confirmation you will be deemed to have accepted these terms and the contract between you and us will come into existence. 

3.5 You are obliged to pay the balance of the tour amount 28 days prior to the date of the tour beginning. If not settled before this time the tour will be cancelled and no refund of the deposit will be made. 

3.6 You will have your own personal experienced driver guide on tour. Tours are allocated tour guides on availability, and you can request certain guides or enquire who will carry out the tour at any time. 

3.7 Standard working hours for our driver guides is 0800/0900 – 1830/1930 anything out with these hours will need to be agreed before the tour starts.

3.8 Transport is provided for the agreed time each day any extra requirements need to be agreed prior to the start of the tour or on request to the driver/guide at his discretion on tour.

4 Departure Times

​

We request passengers be at their departure point 10 minutes prior to agreed departure time. 

Your driver guide will wait no more than 30 minutes from departure time unless agreed by writing 24 hours in advance. Discretion can be used by the driver guide on certain occasions but failure to comply with departure times may result in your tour being cancelled without a refund.

5 Accommodation & Attractions

​

Accommodation & activities are not included in the tour price, these are booked independently and are subject to providers T&Cs. Please ensure there is adequate facilities for evening meals as transport usually ends when drop off is completed at the end of each day unless any extra requirements have been agreed prior to the tour date. 

 

6 Children

​

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The minimum age for children travelling with us must be 2 or older. Children must normally use a child car seat until they’re 12 years old or 135 centimetres tall, whichever comes first. We can provide one car seat upon request at the time of booking. 7 Luggage

​

Please be aware that we will be travelling in a Minivan vehicle and although this is spacious the amount of luggage that can be brought on does depend on the number of passengers travelling on the tour. Please contact our logistics controller to attain limits if booking with bigger numbers. As a rough

8 Insurance 

​

The company meets all statuary insurance requirements, but strongly recommends that passengers arrange suitable travel, medical and cancellation insurance.

9 Accident or Loss

​

Macleod Heilan Tours are not liable for any loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, however caused, unless due to negligence by the company in which case our liability is limited (except death or personal injury) for damages to the refund of the tour price. 

​

10 Customer Conduct 

​

 We have the right to cancel without refund any passenger deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol deemed unsafe or obstructive to our tours. Abusive and violent passengers will be removed from the tour and no refund will be issued. 

​

11 Your obligations 

​

11.1. You are obliged to ensure you have the means to pay for services whilst on the tour. Please beware some accommodation providers do not accept card payments so you must check before tour starts as some amount of cash may be needed whilst on tour. 

11.2. Please on the day bring proof of purchase and/or ID to confirm booking.

11.3. Dress appropriately for the tour and wear suitable footwear taking into consideration the terrain and weather conditions that we may experience whilst on the tour. 

11.4.  If you cause any damage to our property, you are obliged to indemnify us for the full cost of replacing the item or repairing the damage.

12. Smoking

​

Smoking is strictly forbidden whilst onboard the vehicle this is applies to E-Ciggaretes. We will however have plenty of stops on the way which will give time for passengers who wish to smoke.

 

13. Photography & Company Use

​

We use photos taken on tour for promoting the company through various media outlets and booking with us you accept that you or your group may appear in photography taken whilst on tour. You can request at any time the removal of any photography that you or your group may appear in by emailing us at info@macleodhielantours.com
